Employee was using a hammer to strike a chisel for separating head end of cylinder from barrel in order to reseal the cylinder. Upon striking the chisel a piece broke off and entered his left upper arm.

EE and another mechanic were performing repair work on a drill. He used a hammer to loosen parts on the final drive. Impact from hammer caused a splinter of metal to chip off and imbed in his left wrist area. Doctors determined that it would be best to leave splinter where it is. Missed two days work

Victim was struck by a chip of metal from a hammer while observing work being performed. Mechanic stuck hammer against hammer and a chip flew off striking victim in the abdomen. Was taken to hospital where surgery was performed to stop internal bleeding.

WHILE REPLACING BEVEL GEAR IN DOZER, THEY WERE REMOVING COUNTERWEIGHT. WEIGHT DROPPED TWO INCHES WHILE VICTIM WAS USING PRYBAR TO PUNCH PIN OUT. THIS CAUSED BAR TO STRIKE HIM IN RIGHT SIDE OF FACE. APPARENT LACERATION ALSO FRACTURED JAW.

TWO EES WERE CUTTING PACKING MATERIAL FOR SLURRY PUMP. ONE WAS USING A UTILITY KNIFE, THE OTHER GOT HIS FINGER IN WAY OF THE KNIFE. LACERATION TO LEFT INDEX FINGER-3 STITCHES.
