Employee was cutting a curtain on the bottom roller with a belt knife and the blade slipped and he cut his finger. Employee taken to hospital and received 2 stitches.

Showing all 11EE was working 3rd shift assisting in preparation for the continuous miner crew to run coal for the following shift. While in the process of cutting off some excess back-up ventilation curtain that had been overlapped, his utility knife slipped out of the curtain and cut the index finger on left hand. Note: He was wearing gloves and the injury required 11 stitches.
EE was using a 5' pry bar trying to remove a big rock off miner on #2 unit in #7 entry. Another rock underneath the rock he was removing that he was not aware of. As he pryed rock closer to edge of miner rock underneath fell off miner & struck him on top of foot. He had on metarasal boots. x-rays two bones on top of foot were fractured. rock size 3 1/2'x2'x8'.
Injured stated that he was driving connecting links on #16 shuttle car conveyor chain on #1 unit when a piece of the sledge hammer broke off and struck injured in the neck. The hammer head had some tape on it. There was slight swelling & tender to touch. Went ot Dr office for x-ray. EE had piece of metal in his neck went to RMC for removal.
Injured was making a s;ice in the 3c belt when the comalongs come loose and struck injured int he right knee causing a contusion. Injured returned to work the next day. After MRI injured was given restricted duty.
INJURED STATED THAT AS HE WAS CUTTING A PIECE OF BELT THE KNIFE SLIPPED AND CUT HIS RIGHT KNEE, RECEIVED 5 STITCHES
INJURED STATED THAT AS HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO CUT A PIECE OF WATER HOSE WITH A HACKSAW HE CUT HIS LEFT POINTER FINGER. INJURED WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND RECEIVED 6 STITCHES. HE RETURNED TO WORK THE SAME DAY.
INJURED STATED THAT HE WAS USING A LIFTING JACK WHEN THE HANDLE SLIPPED AND HIT HIM IN THE RIGHT CHEEK, CAUSING A LACERATION. INJURED WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND RECEIVED 12 STITCHES. INJURED RETURNED TO WORK HIS NEXT SCHEDULED SHIFT.
INJURED STATED THAT AS HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO CUT A PIECE OF BELT TO MAKE A SPLICE WHEN HIS KNIFE SLIPPED AND CUT HIS RIGHT THIGH CAUSING A 3" LACERATION . HE THEN FELL AND HIT HIS HEAD ON A HEA DER GUARD CAUSING A KNOT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF HESHEAD. INJURED WENT TO DOCTOR AND RECIEVED 6 STITCHES.
INJURED STATED THAT AS HE WAS WORKING ON THE RAWCOAL SCREEN IN THE PREP PLANT THE WRENCH SLIPPEDAND HE HIT HIS LEFT ELBOW. INJURED CONTINUED WORKING AND ON 8-12-03. WAS GIVEN MEDICATION FOR TH E SWELLLING IN HIS ELBOW. INJURED WENT TO DR. ON 8-15-2003 FOR OBSERVATION. RETURN TO THE DOCTOR AGAIN ON 8-22-03. WAS GIVEN MEDICATION BY IV DAILY FOR A WEEK. SURGERY PLANNED. DID NOT BECOM
INJURED STATED THAT A PIECE OF ROCK HAD FELL ACROSS THE CANOPY OF THE #2 ROOF BOLTER ON #1 UNIT. HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE ROCK WITH A PRY BAR WHEN A PIECE OF THE ROCK BROKE OFF CAUSING INJURED TO FALL AGAINST THE BOLTER, CATCHING HISRIGHT HAND BETWEEN THE BAR AND CANOPY. INJURED WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. X RAY SHOWS HIS PINKY FINGER ONT HE RIGHT HAND IS FRACTURED. RETURNED
