Showing all 3Utility employee in ceramic manufacturing plant was responding to a plugged discharge chute to clear it. They reached up into the chute with right hand and contacted an operating rotary valve. They received lacerations to three fingers which required stitches.
Employee was swapping valve from bagging bin to truck bin. The truck valve would not open, and while troubleshooting and concentrating on the truck valve EE placed left hand on part of the bagging valve. When the bagging valve actuated it mashed EE's left middle finger. First aid was administered at the plant, then EE was taken to a physician where EE received stitches.
