Showing all 4Employee was grinding on newly installed conveyor guards when a horse fly bit him on the right shoulder. He swatted at the fly and the grinder swung around and contacted his right arm. The resulting injury required surgery to repair a nicked tendon. Will return to work approx. 2 weeks.
Employee was cleaning mill area with a blower. Dust flew into his right eye. Employee was wearing safety glasses.
EMPLOYEE WAS GRINDING ON RED SCREEN WHEN GRINDER SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. EE SAW THAT IT HAD UNPLUGGED FROM THE ELECTRIC SOURCE, SO HE REACHED OVER AND PLUGGED IT BACK IN. THE SWITCH ON THE GRINDER WAS STILL ON THE ON POSITION, SO WHEN HE PLUGGEDIY IN, IT TURNED BACK ON AND IT MADE A SMALL CUTON HIS LEFT LEG JUST NELOW THE KNEE.
