Individual was clearing blockage from the exit of the hydrator near the exhaust stack when hot hydrate material let loose and sprayed across both his arms. Hot material caused burns to both his arms. It was not determined until 11/30/15 that his injury was such that he could not return to work.

Showing all 3While bagging Hydrate lime a 50# bag split at top forcing lime into employee's mouth. Individual cleared debris from mouth and continued working. Two days later individual had ulcers in mouth and went to doctor for treatment.
Employee was trying to shutdown the panel board for the premix screw because lime was blowing out of the screw. Lime blew into his right eye.
