A mechanic sustained an injury to the tip of ee middle finger on ee right hand while replacing the hammer on the rock breaker. The finger was injured when it was caught between the hammer and pin as ee was attempting to line up the pin.

Showing all 17An Operator sustained a burn to left palm while using a cutting torch. Some debris plugged up the torch head while cutting causing the flame to go out. EE assumed the flame was completely out and used EE's left hand (with leather gloves on) to remove the material. Upon clearing the material, the flame re-lit resulting in the injury.
A mechanic suffered an avulsion injury to the pad of his left long finger. The injured was installing a hoist motor in a Marion 7400 Dragline. While using an electric hoist to raise the motor into place the chain hooked to the load suddenly rolled. His gloved hand was pinched by the chain causing the injury to his finger.
A repairman sustained a 2nd degree burn to his left wrist while using a torch to remove troughing rollers. His torch hose snagged on the conveyor frame and when he attempted to free the hose it twisted and the lite torch was redirected over his left wrist.
A Dragline Operator suffered a corneal abrasion to his left eye while cutting a keeper off the dragline bucket with a torch. As the injured started cutting with an oxygen/acetylene torch dirt or steel popped causing debris to enter his left eye behind his safety glasses.
A laborer suffered an acute lumbar strain while using a 90lb jackhammer to break concrete. While breaking the concrete a chunk broke free causing him to lose control of the jackhammer. When he attempted to regain control of the jackhammer he strained his back.
Employee burned his right hand with cutting torch while working on screen bearing replacement.
On or about March 21, 2008 the injured alleged he was using an impact wrench for a number of hours. Later in time the injured came to his supervisor and claimed he had pain in his elbow and wanted to be seen by the local clinic. Physician treatment on April 3, 2008 discovered an infection and additional treatment has made this injury a recordable.

THE EE WAS STANDING BELOW THE SCREEN DECK UPON RESTRTING THE MILL. A ROCK WAS THROWN FROM A SCREEN AND STRUCK THE EE'S HARD HAT LACERATING HIS RIGHT EAR. EIGHT SUTURES WERE NEEDED TO CLOSE THE WOUND, THUS MAKING THIS A RECORDABLE.
THE MEPLOYEE WAS USING A SKILL SAW TO CUT WEDGES FOR A JOB BEING PERFORMED WHILE USING THE SAW IT KICKED BACK AND INJURED THE EMPLOYEE.
THE INJURED WAS ASSIGNED TO STEAM CLEAN A FRONT END LOADER PRIOR TO REPAIRS. IT BEGAN TO RAIN SO THE EE CHOSE TO RETURN TO THE GARAGE. WHILE DESCENDING FROM THE LOADER, HE STATES THAT THE WAND FROM THE STEAM CLEANER WENT ACROSS HIS BOOT AND BURNT HIS RIGHT FOOT.
