Miner was feeding the saw table with a block of stone. As ee lifted and set the stone onto the table ee caught the edge of pinky finger against the metal table and the force of the stone causing rupture to finger
Miner was operating the Hydra-split machine by sliding/pushing a piece of limestone to position it against the teeth guides with his left hand, and as he activated the cut lever his hand slipped over the top of the piece of stone and into the splitter resulting in fracture and laceration of his left index and middle fingers.
