Injured was riding out of mine in the middle section of the mantrip that is not covered. Injured raised his head and struck the right side of his head on the roof causing lacerations to forehad and under right eye. Received 5 stitches to forehead and 8" under right eye.
Employee was traveling on mantrip looking for scoop. He backed up to let another vehicle pass. As he moved forward he struck a rib causing the steering column to move out of control. The steering column hit his right hand causing fractures.
Injured was operatng an S&S 488 scoop. He went to park it in #3 entry. As he was coming to a stop, he placed his right hand on top of the canopy. The sccop came to a stop & caught his right hand between the canopy & rib.
EE WAS OPERATING BATTERY RUBBER TIRE MANTRIP. EE STRUCK COAL RIB CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO SPIN SUDDENLY STRIKING THE EE ON THE LEFT HAND. THE RESULT WAS A FRACTURE TO THE RING AND MIDDLE FINGER ON THE LEFT HAND.
EE WAS PASSING BY SECTION SCOOP IN #4 ENTRY TOWARDS THE POWER CTR. THE RUBBER 2 MAN PERSONNEL CARRIER STRUCK THE OPERATORS COMPARTMENT OF SCOOP,CAUSING WHEEL TO SPIN STRIKING EE'S RIGHT HAND. THE EE CONT'D TO WORK WITH NO MED TREATMENT UNTIL 1/3/05 & THEN STARTED MISSING WORK DAYS. THE INCIDENT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE IF AN INJ EXIST TO PREVENT EE FROM WORKING.
Employee stated he was operating battery powered rubber tire mantrip and hit an offset with his right wheel. This caused the steering wheel to turn quickly hitting him on the right forearm, resulting in a fracture.
