Employee was in the process of helping another ram car out of underpass. The underpass was very steep. The batteries on the ram cars became interlocked. The batteries came apart dropping suddenly approx. 12" to 18" causing the ram car that EE was operating to jar him injuring his upper back. This area is not normally traveled by ram cars. The regular travelway was blocked.

Showing all 11Employee was pulling into the battery shack on his golf cart when he came into contact with the two wheel utility trailer parked on the back side of the curtain. The curtain was triple layered. He hit the right rear end of the trailer and it rolled upon his golf cart and on top of his left foot.
Employee was riding in Alpha 14 man diesel mantrip facing to the side (perpendicular) to the direction of travel. He had his feet propped upon the brace. When the mantrip made a 90 deg turn to the rt, the trip was hitting the coal rib. His lt foot hit the coal rib first, he was trying to move his lt foot when toe of his rt foot caught between frame of mantrip and coal rib.
Employee was riding in scoop bucket in the direction of the battery end on #1 unit's supply. While the employee was watching the miner cable, the scoop operator raised the bucket because the tire went down into a hole. Scoop came out of hole; the bucket went up against the roof pinning the employee between the floor of bucket and mine roof.
EE WAS OPERATING A SUPPLY JEEP, HAULING SUPPLIES TO #1 UNIT. HE WAS TRAVELING THROUGH THE BACK-UP CURTAIN ON THE SUPPLY ROAD WITH THE OPERATOR'S DECK FIRST WHEN HE RAN INTO A DAPCO 5-MAN DIESEL RIDE PARKED IMMEDIATELY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CURTAIN. THE FRONT OF THE RIDE CAME UP INTO THE DECK, CUTTING EE'S RIGHT ARM.
HE WAS LOADING BELT WHEN HE STEPPED BETWEEN SCOOP BUCKET AND BELT SLIDE TO PULL OUT A TWIST IN BELT. HE POSTIONED HIS FEET BETWEEN THE SCOOP AND BELT SLIDE, SCOOP ROLLED FORWARD CATCHING HIS R IGHT FOOT BETWEEN SCOOP AND SLIDE.
RAN OVER ROCK WITH FRONT WHEEL. THE ROCK SHOT UP AND STRUCK HIS LEFT LEG.
AFTER ROCK DUSTING UNIT, EE WENT OUT BY THE SECTION AIR LOCK TO HANG ROCK DUSTER IN A CROSS CUT. THEY WERE TRAMMING INTO THE X-CUT, EE WAS STILL IN SCOOP BUCKET, WHEN THE SCOOP HIT A BUMP CAUSING THE DUSTER TO SLIDE OVER HITTING EE ON THE CHEST.
EE WAS OPERATING A SCOOP, TRAMMING FROM #6 ENTRYTO #7 ENTRY IN THE LAST OPEN CROSS CUT. HE REACHED OUT OF CANOPY TO RAISE THE WING CURTAIN IN #6ENTRY WHEN HIS HAND WAS CAUGHT BETWEEN RIB AND C ANOPY ON SCOOP.
PART OF UNIT WAS ON 4 MAN DAPCO & 14 MAN UNIT RIDE, ONE MAN GOT OFF UNIT RIDE IN PIT TO GET A GOLF CART. 14 MAN UNIT RIDE WAS IN FRONT, GOLF CART WAS NEXT AND 4 MAN DAPCO WAS LAST. ON #4 BELT SUPPLY ROAD, 14 MAN WENT THRU CLEAR CURTAIN AND SLOWED UP FOR SOME ROCK THAT HAD FALLEN OUT BETWEEN PINS. THE GOLF CAR WENT THRU CLEAR CURTAIN AND SLOWED UP OR STOPPED. THE 4 MAN WENT THRU CLE
SECTION FOREMAN WENT TO TAIL PIECE TO LINE BELT.BELT WAS SPILLING COAL ONTO MINE FLOOR. HE PULLED ON A BOTTOM ROOLER THAT WAS STUCK. AFTERWARD, HE WENT TO MINE PHONE TO TALK OUTSIDE. ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO 1 HOUR LATER HIS RIGHT SIDE AND BACK STARTED HURTING.
