Mechanic was stepping down from the bucket of a Skid Steer and was tripped up by an attachment bracket located in the center of the bucket. Employee fell onto right elbow and forearm causing a contusion and slight abrasion.

Showing all 3Employee was cleaning rocks from the walkway on the primary screen. He bent down to pick-up a rock that was stuck in the walkway and put his hand on the handrail. The handrail had a broken weld that gave way and he fell through to the ground (approx. 5 ft.) striking his head and back on the ground.
EMPLOYEE CLAIMED THAT A STEP BROKE & HE FELL HITTING HIS BACK ON A METAL PORTION OF THE LANDING. THIS IS A DISPUTED CLAIM OF INJURY. HE STATED TO OTHER EMPLOYEES THAT HE HAD HURT HIS BACK LIFT ING A FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER HITCH INTO HIS PICKUP BED AT HOME. PRESENTLY SIIS & OUR INSURANCE COMPANY ARE DENYING HIS CLAIM OF INJURY DUE TO THESE STATEMENTS.
