Employee was attempting to climb a ladder to access a drain plug on a sand sluice pipe. While climbing the ladder the bottom kicked out causing the employee to fall approximately 5' to the ground, bruising left shoulder and left side rib area. Did not wait for a spotter to secure the bottom of the ladder.

EE WAS SITTING ON PLATFOERM, GRINDING A CHUTE WHEN THE PLATFORM FELL OUT FROM UNDER HIM AND HE FELL 10' INTO BIN. (COMPLETED AFTER TALKING WITH INSPECTOR).
