Victim positioned self between boom of backhoe and stairs. Backhoe operator was looking away and preparing to move backhoe. Machine boom swung slightly toward victim (who was facing away), pinning victim between boom and stairway. Operator moved boom away, freeing victim. Victim suffered crush to chest and upper left arm, resulting in 3 fractured ribs and fractured sternum.

VICTIM HAD CUTS ON FACE, LOST 1 TOOTH, BRUISES TO SHOULDER. RECEIVED STITCHES ON FACE & ASSIGNED PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR SHOULDER.
