Showing all 2Employee was filling a tote bin with Nitrogen that would be used for loading blast holes. The 2000 lb bag of nitrogen was lifted over the bin and the miner cut a hole in the bottom of the bag to allow nitrogen to flow into the bin. As the material began to flow out of the bag, it shifted and pinned the worker to the top edge of the tote, causing spinal and other injuries.
