Employee was splicing wires with a utility knife. Blade became dull and slipped on the wires cutting left hand between thumb and index finger. Wound required three stitches.
Removing hydraulic block to prep the excavator for welding. The hoses were tangled, and during an attempt to untangle, hand got pinched between the main frame and the block. Open comminuted fracture of proximal phalanx of finger.

He did not go to the walk in clinic until Saturday, 7/21/12 to have the minor swelling checked out. There were no fractures in his right hand and received a return to work form with no restrictions.
The employee was lighting an acetelyne torch. The torch "popped" as he lit it. The flame went up the employees glove and burned the palm of his left hand. The employee received a 2nd degree burn on the palm of his hand.
