IE and another EE were beating a dry ice cooled master pin into a connecting link on the track of a D-6 MXL Caterpillar Dozer with an 8 pound maul. IE was holding the link in place with pliers. The maul hit the pin and bounced past the pliers and struck IE's leather gloved hand with a glancing blow. This resulted in a bruise to the left hand.
