Over-exertion (Not Elsewhere Classified)

EE was swinging auger steels during mining. The auger was sitting on a slight slope. EE felt knee ""pop"". EE said it hurt a little but didn't think anything of it. EE worked the remainder of the shift. EE states woke up in the middle of the night in a lot of pain and could not bend the knee. EE was treated on 08/30/2024 at an Urgent Care.

Struck by flying object

The highwall miner has just been recommissioned to Little Pete's Branch and is being assembled. EE was tightening the bolts on the super beam at the front of the HWM with a 3/4"" drive impact gun with a universal swivel extension. The extension failed and flew apart, pieces of it struck EE on the left side of EE's face causing injury to the left eye.

Fall onto or against objects

EE was repairing the conveyor roller head. EE was using a pry bar to roll the head over, the pry bar dislodged causing EE to fall and strike EE's left thumb on the conveyor guard. EE received 7 sutures at Logan Regional Medical Center and returned to work.

Struck by... (Not Elsewhere Classified)

EE was driving a pin with a hand held hammer to remove the sprocket assembly of the conveyor motor. EE missed the pin and struck their right thumb.
