Syar Industries, IncMining Incidents in 2005

A nylon rope was being used to pull a cable across the pond for the purpose of loading a larger cable onto the yarder that would drag the bucket. Rope snapped & wrapped around employee's arm.

EMPLOYEE WAS PAINTING INSIDE OF BLENDING SIDE OF LAB ON & OFF ALL WEEK FROM 1/18/05 TO 1/21/05. ON FRIDAY AT 1:30PM HE SAID HE BECAME DIZZY & DID NOT FEEL WELL.

Stepped off loader into hole.

Employee was moving a full wheelbarrow when the handle broke and employee's body twisted as wheelbarrow tipped over causing a back strain.

While employee was shoveling under the screen deck at the scalper he felt something tear near his left ribs.

EMPLOYEE JARRED HIS NECK WHEN HE LIFTED UP WHILE PUTTING SHOES INSIDE CIRCLE OF GRADER, RESULTING IN A CERVICAL STRAIN.

WHILE OPERATING ENGINE LATHE, A LONG, SHARP SHAVING FLEW OUT AND LACERATED EE'S RIGHT MIDDLE FINGER.

Sprained left ankle while stepping off of service truck.

While driving a stake into a wattle, employee's hand & stake moved causing sledge hammer to hit his left hand.

Installing air tank under equipment, he went to get under equipment and hit his hard hat on a bar jamming his neck.

EE WAS PUTTING FILTERS INTO BOX ON LUBE TRUCK THAT HAS A HINGED LID. THE LID FELL ONTO EE'S LEFT THUMB - CONTUSION.

MOVING BOX, FELT PAIN IN SHOULDER

Not sure, Employee noticed eye itching & burning & asked to see the Dr.

Operating a milling machine and handling various tools and materials a small piece of metal lodged into right hand.
