Employee was welding a safety plate above a feeder, when a rock slid down surge pile, striking employee in lower back. Employee was taken for medical treatment; no xrays required. Doctor told employee to remain off til Thursday, June 7th, when employee will return to doctor.

MATERIAL ABOVE THEM SLOUGHED OFF TRAPPING THE OPERATOR AT THE WAIST AND COMPLETELY B URYING THE WELDER. WELDER WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE. OPERATOR PULLED MUSCLES IN LEFT LEG, AND WAS TREATED FOR SHOCK.
