Employee was using a winch type tool to pull cutter head together with highwall mine. It slipped rolling against his knee & highwall miner frame. X-rays - no broken bones.

EMPLOYEE WAS PUTTING IN A SPLICE AND THE KNIFE SLIPPED, CUTTING HIS RIGHT FOREARM. HE WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AND THEY CLEANED IT, PUT 2 STAPLES IN IT, AND ADVISED TO TAKE 1 DAY OFF.
EE WAS USING SLEDGE HAMMER TO DRIVE PIN BACK IN DOZER, MISSED PIN & HIT THUMB ON LEFT HAND. X-RAY SHOWED THUMB TO BE FRACTURED AT JOINT. HE WILL BE SEEING A SURGEON ON 2/27/03 FOR FURTHER EVAL UATION.
