They were repositioning the dredge in gusty winds when the starboard side positioning line became taught. EE attempted to ease the line out by pulling the dog back out of the sprocket teeth when ee did hand slipped off the winch handle causing it to free wheel the winch handle came around hitting right hand and ee nose as went down to the deck.

EE was operating a hand winch adjusting the dredge position. EE felt hand get weak followed by a sharp pain. EE was taken to a doctor where the hand was x-rayed and wrapped. EE was released to go back to work at normal job with restricted use with EE's right hand. EE was released back to full duty one week later.

The latch on a fiber rope winch released unexpectedly causing the winch handle to come around and strike the miner on the back of his left hand.

EMPLOYEE WENT TO RELEASE A HANDWINCH ON THE DREDGE, HIS LEFT HAND SLIPPED OFF OF THE WINCH AND THE MIDDLE FINGER BECAME CAUGHT BETWEEN THE GEARS IN THE WINCH.

EE WAS TIGHTENING A BOLT ONT HE SUCTION PIPELINE ON THE GRAVEL DREDGE WHEN THE COMBONATION WRENCH HE WAS USING SLIPPED OFF THE HEAD OF THE BOLT AND THE WRENCH STRUCK HIS FACE BELOW THE LEFT EY E CAUSING A LACERATION REQUIRING 3 STITCHES.
