Showing all 7Employee was lifting large blocks of sandstone (several tons) with the forks of a front end loader. He sustained a back injury when a block broke and fell from the forks causing the loader to be abruptly bounced upward. Employee will be on restricted work until doctor's release.
EE was attempting to move a large block of sandstone (6-7 ton) in the bucket of a front end wheel loader, when the block slid off the bucket causing the loader to be jarred abruptly, resulting in a back strain to EE.
EE STATES THAT WHILE OPERATING A WHEEL LOADER. EE SUSTAINED A LOWER BACK STRAIN INJURY. THE INJURY WAS BELIEVED TO BE CAUSED BY ABRUPT MOVEMENT OF THE LOADER WHILE OPERATING OVER ROUGH TERRAIN. EE WAS PLACED ON RESTRICTED WORK ACTIVITY UNTIL NEXT DOCTORS APPOINTMENT ON 03/09/05.
WHILE REMOVING A LARGE BLOCK OF STONE FOR PROCESSING USING A 220 VOLVO LOADER, THE STONE BROKE CAUSING HALF THE STONE TO FALL FROM THE LOADER. THIS IN TURN CAUSED THE LOADER TO JUMP UPWARD AND DROP. THIS JARRING MOTION TO EE'S BACK CAUSING PAIN.
RUNNING A LOADER AND BEGAN TO HAVE BACK PAIN.
OPERATING LOADER HIT BUMP-JERKED SHOULDER BACK FELT PAIN IN RIGHT SHOULDER.
