Just after loading shuttle car, miner operator was struck by rib, causing them to fall injuring their left foot. Had x ray done at hospital, showing no fracture, but going to x ray again after swelling goes down to make sure.

Showing 50 of 58While mining in #3 entry of section. Shuttle car operator was struck by rib burst to left side after being loaded by miner returning to feeder. Causing several small scratches and cuts to arms and side of face. Employee is going to follow up with a x ray in a few days to make sure no fractures.
While roof bolting in #3 left of 0001 MMU, a rib rolled off striking operator, side bolter operator on top side of left forearm and lower left leg. The rib was approximately 1 foot by 6 foot long. The result of the accident was a fractured lower left leg and several stitches to the top of left forearm.
Installing bottom rollers and EE felt a popping in their shoulder.
Operator had hand laying on long arm of bolter while drilling wasn't paying attention caught left hand in pinch area on canopy & cut tip of ring finger off.
Working on 6" fresh water supply line when coupling blew out. Struck employee in left hand & right leg.
Employee was riding personnel carrier on way outside ride hit a bump, employee caught shoulder against top of mine roof.
Roof fall occurred in the #3 entry (Roadway) of the #4 belt line 1 crosscut inby ss #2983.
Piece of rock or other material flew back & struck miner man in left eye as miner man was cutting second lift out of 8 head. Miner man was positioned about 8 ft. past tail boom in 8 right intersection.
While cleaning #1 heading with a scoop, employee's elbow was caught between scoop and rib. When they tried to free themselves they steered the wrong way mashing it.
Employee was struck in head and knocked to ground by a piece of draw rock and struck in legs by more draw rock.
Employee was plastering a brattice. As ee made way across the brattice moving the bucket of plaster with ee, moisture on the surface of the plaster inadvertently splashed and found its way underneath ee safety glasses and into ee left eye.
Ran over 2" plastic pipe and it flipped up into car and hit him and cut his eyelid.
Timber fell over and hit employee in ribs
Using hammer drive ground rod in ground hammer slip forward hard hit rod and cut index finger.
Replace a torque shaft on a miner and twisted some and felt something pulled.
Scoop bounced on roadway going in.
Step up on two crib blocks about 12" high - step off lost balance and fell hurt wrist
Picked up a chain and pulled something in back
While driving a shuttle car he ran over something in the road that bounced him out of his seat, he then ran into rib and stopped he got off the SC. When he tried to stand up he developed a muscle spasm in his mid back.
He was running the continuous miner and a small rock was throw out of the conveyor and hit employee above the right eye.
Piece of rock fell from roof between the bolts and rib striking his left side.
In #00 Heading, the man was cutting a piece of draw rock 1" thick by 30" long 12" wide fell from the top hit the man on his head and shoulders. Knocking him down.
Service the miner and reach to service parts and a small rock fell from the top and hit EE on his hand. Cut the back of his hand about 1 1/2" wide.
Lifting rub rail, it slipped off the miner and fell on his foot.
In a worked out section that had been dangered off at the time the head was working. Five entry had been dangered off. A piece of rock between two hill seems fell out. Found at the time of making the returns. About 1400' off of section the entry had been curtain off for ventilation. 10' to 3' wide, 7' thick, 30' long.
While installing a strap, the strap spun around and cut his thumb.
While walking on section, stepped into a hole and turned ankle.
Roof fall approx. 2,300' from face near EP #5 was discovered on weekly inspection.
Airlock door accidently closed striking miner.
In #1 Heading the butt off or side cut cut through into old works. Air moving from sec into old works, measured 10,200 cfm. No water. No roof problem in the cut.
A dislodged timber fell on right foot.

Pulling miner cable out of roadway hurt his back
Roof fall on # 5 belt between spads 825-826, 280' from #5 head drive. Size of the fall 20' X 70' X 5'.
While pulling belt together with red devil, the red devil cable broke and belt clamps hit him on his ankle.
He said he was stepping off tailpiece and turned his knee.

He was sitting on rear of roof bolter with head down on arms when a rock fell hitting his head.
While helping clean out hose, he placed his hand in a pinch point. Operator raised boom pinching finger.
EE PUT HAND ON GROUND. ROCK FELL FROM ROOF HITTING ON HAND.
SCOOP WAS DIPPING UP A PIECE OF ROCK WHEN IT TWISTED STRIKING HIS FOOT WHICH TURNED HIS ANKLE.
ROCK GOT STUCK IN SHUTTLE CAR WHILE BREAKING IT UP, IT FELL OUT OF CAR STRIKING HIS FOOT.
WALKING ALONG BELT STUMBLED FELL ON KNEE.
REPAIRING A CONVEYOR CHAIN A CHIP OF METAL EMBEDDED IN NOSE.
WHILE BOLTING THE ROOF, A SMALL ROCK FELL ON HAND.
EE BENT OVER TO PICK UP A BOLT, A SMALL ROCK HIT HIM ON BACK OF NECK. A FEW WEEKS LATER HIS FINGERS STARTED TO FEEL NUMB AND TINGLING. HE WENT TO THE DOCTOR ON 10-8-02 AND FILLED OUT AN ACCIDE NT REPORT ON 10-31-02.
RIDING MANTRIP TO THE SURFACE RADIATOR BLEW UP 5 SPRAYING HOT ANTI-FREEZE ON EE.
