Recent inundation fatalities

Drowning

A water inundation occurred on the No. 1 Section in the No. 1 Face near spad 1717. Resulted in a Fatal injury. Rescue crews located the fatally injured person on 11/13/2025.

Drowning

Mantrip was passing the loadout and they observed a wall of water and debris coming towards them. They began backing up and hit the berm. EE was the first to exit the mantrip. They were on high ground with water flowing on both sides of them when EE stepped into the stream on the east side of them when EE was swept away. EE's body was found 6 miles downstream.

Caught in, under or between collapsing material or buildings

A haul unit was being loaded by a track hoe and a slush pond dam broke and the slush came down on top of them burying them.

A track hoe was loading a haul unit with gravel to take to wash plant and the dam on a slush pond broke and covered up both the tack hoe and the haul unit with the workers in them.
