2LMN Unit Intersection 10+50 1R XC Actively bolting a brow on a blow through that was 4 to 5 feet in length. The brow broke up causing multiple pieces of shale to fall. Employee was inserting pin into previously drilled hole when employee was struck on the back and legs knocking employee to the ground.

The impact caused a contusion to EE's right thumbnail. After shift EE went to an urgent care facility where X-rays revealed a fracture to the tip of EE's thumb.
While roof bolting, reached to remove a plugged drill steel from the roof. As they reached, shale and rock fell around the steel, knocking the injured to the ground. The rock and drill steel struck their right calf and left a laceration that required sutures to close.
