Showing 50 of 83Laborer was removing the wheel chalks from fuel truck when he felt a sharp pain in his back at the end of day-shift. He returned to work his next scheduled shift and had stiffness in his back. Employee returned home.
Miner smashed his hand between a beam and crusher segment while trying to remove the segment.
Miner was hooking a hose to a pump and using his hand to hit the dog ears on the connector. The dog ear had a sharp piece on it causing a puncture wound.
Employee had just pulled his powder truck under the powder bin to reload. The powder truck was parked in a rut requiring him to step a little higher to the first step. The employee then felt pain in his groin area. The employee continued to work the rest of the shift and returned the next day but the pain increased so he went to get it checked.
Employee was working on clean coal dryer. he grabbed the vibrator belts to position himself. the belt rolled and his pinky finger was caught between belt and pulley. fractured right pinky finger
Employee was working on feeder belt under plant hopper. They were replacing belt and pulling it through. He hurt his right shoulder. Pulled muscle or tear.
Employee was opening a drain valve on a water pump and it was hot. When he opened the valve hot steam hit his right hand causing second degree burn on hand.
Employee was refilling his grease truck and when he slid the side door shut it caught his finger between the door and the door jam. (left hand- middle finger)
Employee and co-worker were moving hose to pump water into water truck. Employee said his back was hurting.
three employees were moving a 4" hose out of the way of equipment. employee complained of back pain afterward. went to IMED medical lower back strain.
Two employees were trying to get to a sheet of metal in a metal rack, when two pieces of metal shifted in the rack and caught one employee hand in between the sheets of metal pinching his left hand also caught his right foot. Contusion and abrasions to left arm.
Employee was working on setting a pump unit #1607 in the southwest coal pit when he sliced the pinky finger on his left hand. He went to IMED on 10/9/2013. With his arm hurting. Worked part of this day.
Employee said that on 6/5/2013 while replacing a bucket elevator he injured his back but did not report it. Employee said while shoveling coal on 6/17/13 from under a conveyor, his back popped again and was hurting. He went home at this time.
EE was getting into dump truck when his foot slipped off the tread on the step on the fuel tank causing him to fall and grab the hand rail which hyper extended his right arm and injured his right shoulder. (EE worked until 01/29/13 when he went to doctor)
EE was hand tightening a bolt into a final drive flange on a final drive. His index finger was cut above the knuckle by a sharp edge on the flange. (Index finger right hand three stitches.)
EE was getting on unit #1140 end dump. The first step was high and when he pulled himself up onto the ladder he felt something pull in his right arm. Later he could not lift his arm about halfway in the air. EE worked the 17 went to Dr on 18 and was not scheduled to work that day. Not scheduled on 19 and 20 went back to Dr on 21 and released to work with no restrictions on the 22.
EE was climbing into the back of a grease truck when he felt something pop or move between his shoulder blades. He was pulling himself up using his Rt arm/hand to grip a handhold above his head. He experienced immediate pain in his spine and numbness in his right arm and hand. Went to Dr on 5/17/12 and went back to work no restrictions. Went back to Dr on 5/22/12.
EE was rolling up 4" water hose and he heard something pop in his right shoulder. He was exp. alot of pain and did not have much movement in shoulder.
EE was removing a guard from a tail roller when the guard sprung loose and hit his thumb. Thumb on right hand. (EE did not report accident until 12/15/11).
Employee was changing parts from one engine to another when he took a bolt out of an engine mount causing the engine to roll over on its side. He put his left hand out trying to catch the engine. When it fell it caused a deep laceration on his left hand thumb and fractured the tip of his thumb. 7 stitches.
EE was carrying a coal crusher screen out of the parts trailer, when he stepped on something and twisted his ankle and hurt his back.
EE was working on 1800 shovel #1018. He was pulling a cable through the track frame. He got his first finger on his right hand smashed between the cable and a pin. Finger needed stitches.
EE was climbing down from Gardner/Denver Drill #1064 his finger got stuck on something and he pulled fingers out, his right index and middle fingers were lacerated requiring 7 stitches. Did not know what he caught his fingers on.
EE was raising up a mast on a light plant when he let go of the crank handle the handle spun backwards striking him in the hand. He had contusions on both hands.
EE was working on core drill and was pulling pipe from the drill hole. When he pulled on the pipe he strained his left wrist.
Employee was putting plastic pipe on the forks of the IT14 Loader. One of the forks fell off and landed on his left foot. (contusion left foot)
EE was fueling equipment. He was pulling out the hose on the fuel truck and his back started to hurt. He went to the emergency room and Imed clinic. Back strain.
Employee had taken the hitch off of the it14 loader. He was going to put it in his grease truck when he lifted the hitch he felt a pull in his back. Back Strain.
EE was working on dozer placing nuts on the bolts when a piece of dirt got into his eye. EE rubbed his eye and got a piece of metal in his eye. EE didn't know if the metal was in the dirt or on his hand. EE was helping put tracks on the dozer
EE was picking up a tooth for the 1800 hitachi shovel and pulled a muscle in his upper left arm.
Employee was helping replace a pipe on the second floor of the wash plant. He strained and injured his right shoulder. He has pain in shoulder and intense burning. He went to the doctor on the twenty second.
EE had a problem with his hitachi shovel and was trying to get the ladder down, he jerked on the latch to lower the ladder and injured his back. Frozen mud was keeping the latch from releasing, the mud was removed and ladder lowered.
Finger went partially in between the handle and the tailgate taking off tip of finger.
EE was under a dozer. He was trying to put a pin back in an equalizer bar which the pin had come out, on the track frame side the equalizer bar dropped about 2 ". EE moved out of the way and hit his head on something under the dozer maybe a bolt 1 1/2" laceration requiring 8 staples.
EE was on the powder truck and had the bay doors open trying to get the powder to fall (he has a stainless steel rod to knock the powder down). The wind caught the bay door and it fell, hitting his hand (contusion to right hand).
Employee was helping remove a large rock that was stuck on the feeder belt. When trying to get the rock in position on the belt it rolled and employee had his hand on belt and rock rolled on his hand causing a contusion to right hand.
EE was helping with maintenance while the shovel was down. He went to pull the ladder up that was still latched (it has a sliding ladder) and he pulled a tendon in his left arm.
Emplloyee was picking up water hose. He was rolling up hose and jerked on the hose and pulled a muscle in his back.
EE was holding up a plate to be welded in a coal chute. He had also been digging in frozen ground, not sure when he hurt shoulder.
Employee was trying to get a pump to pick up prime and he folded the discharge hose to help it pick up prime. As the hose picked up prime it slipped out of his hands and jammed his thumb on his right hand.
Employee was checking oil in scraper engine.When he climbed up the ladder, he pulled something in his shoulder. Employee worked until June fourth and he went to the doctor on June fifth and was put on limited duty.
EE and another EE were stringing out discharge water hose, EE was trying to untangle the hose, it was twisted. When the other EE pulled on the hose bending his right thumb back (causing sprain).
Employee was installing a brake calliper on a 50 ton end dump. EE said he had bolt in one end of calliper & was trying to bolt in other end. The callifper slipped & caught the tip of index finger on left hand, resulting in about 3/8 of finger being cut off.
Employee was getting out of the mechanic truck and hit his right elbow against the exhaust causing a second degree burn 3 cm by 5 cm. Went to doctor on 8-4-07.
EE was climbing down ladder on 190 ton end dump at end of shift. EE said he got muscle cramp in left bicep. Woke up in middle of night & arm was swollen & in pain.
Employee was setting up water pump & was moving the suction hose and discharge hose. He said he felt a twinge in his left shoulder. Pulled muscle.
Employee's end dump was stuck in mud. Employee got out of truck to hook pull cable on front of end dump. Employee sprained his shoulder when hooking cable and getting back in truck.
Employee and mechanic were lifting a water pipe off the back of unit #1385 water truck. The chain that was around the pipe slipped, mashing employee's left thumb between pipe and back of the water truck.
Employee stated that while helping move a dewatering bed from one set of work horses to another, that he had a strange feeling in his back-over the course of the next few dyas. The pain got worse. (was notafied on 9-9-05).
