Anderson Fire Department was dispatched at 18:00 hours for a potential water rescue. AFD then notified imi of this issue. It was found that 4 teenagers had trespassed on the property with the intention of swimming. imi was informed at 18:45 that a victim had drowned and they were actively trying to recover the body. Body of the victim was recovered at 20:09.

Showing all 8The Mechanic helper was working on a piece of equipment in a tight spot. He had his leg folded under his thigh for a period of time and his leg went numb. He went home and the feeling never returned, so he went to the hospital. Doctor said it was a pinched nerve and may take a few days for feeling to return 100%.
On or about 6/12/12 EE started having pain & swelling in rt hand. Swelling & discomfort led to visit on 7/6/12 w/family dr. He gave EE a wrist guard for support & some anti inflammatory meds. With no positive response from these measures, EE returned to Dr. 7/30/12. Referred to orthopedic dr who determined 8/30/12 that surgery would be performed 9/17/12.
Employee was working in the shop on a 773 Cat truck. He was working on the motor when he bent down to do the work and his knee popped.
Trespasser on property had an apparent heart attack and died.
Employee was laying down on his side on a flat 2"x12" board in feed pan of McLanahan crusher, He was welding on a wear plate on side of crusher next to the rotor. When finished welding he went to get up and experienced a sharp pain in his lower back. May have strained or pulled a muscle in his back.
Employee was climbing a fixed position ladder when he sustained a spider bite to his lower left arem. The employee had not missed work but visited a doctor who has prescribed a tetnus injection, an allergy injection, and a regiment of six penicillin shots. It is believed that the bite was from a brown recluse spider.
Employee was stockpiling 53's, wind blown particle got in right eye, employee was wearing hard hat and safety glasses/when bin door was opened to empty bin strong wind from east was blowing fines over to cat walk where stockpiler stands.
