Employee was palletizing pieces of sandstone when he slipped in the mud and temporarily lost his footing. He sustained a lower back strain due to slip. Rain and wet ground contributed to this injury. He was released by his doctor to return to work on a light duty status.

EMPLOYEE WAS CARRYING A ROLL OF PALLET BANDING MATERIAL ON HIS SHOULDER WHEN HE SLIPPED ON SNOW & ICE COVERING THE GROUND. AS HE FELL FORWARD HE PLACED BOTH HANDS IN FRONT OF HIS BODY TO BREAK THE FALL, AT WHICH TIME THE ROLL OF BANDING CAME OFF HIS SHOULDER LANDING ON HIS RT. HAND & THUMB.
