While installing dredge handrail EE slipped on sand, a portion of handrail struck EE's neck, creating a minor laceration. Laceration was bandaged at local clinic.

Showing all 4Worker was exiting a shop trailer at the end of the shift. Access was by a manufactured stairway system with handrails on both sides. Worker missed first step and fell approximately 4 feet to the ground (packed sand). Worker landed on his left shoulder. Experienced severe pain the following morning. Orthopaedic consultation scheduled for 4/6/9.
Worker had removed access panels to dredge control apparatus under the control house. He took a break to warm up. He fell into the access hole while reentering the repair area. He worked the remainder of his shift, by his choice. He did not seek medical attention until the next day.
EE WAS ASSISTING IN CHANGING THE 12" FLEX COUPLING ON THE DREDGE SUCTION . THE SAFETEY CABLE BROKE THE COUPLING STRUCK HIM IN THE CHEST. HE LANDED ON HIS LEFT KNEE. ( HE HAD PREVIOUS SURGERY O N HIS KNEE PRE-DATING HIS EMPLOYMENT.
