EE was operating a continuous miner (CM). As ee engaged the cutting head, a rock fell from the mine roof and struck the top of the CM, which caused a rock to slide off of the CM. The rock that slid off the CM struck ee in the right hip, causing a hip dislocation.

The force of the rock drove EE's head and left side of EE's face against the dust box. EE suffered fractures to the left side of EE's face, below EE's eye. EE began missing time on 6-11-18.
EE was operating a walk-through bolter and was drilling a hole into the mine roof in preparation for installing a roof bolt. During this process, a piece of draw rock slid off of the wire mesh striking EE in the right hand. EE was transported to ER where EE had surgery and is expected to make a full recovery and return to normal occupation within 5-6 weeks.
