Contractor employee was unloading jumpers to pull belt with, off the flat bed truck and claims that they felt pain in the stomach area. Cause of this injury was not using proper body mechanics and getting help. Compliance with rules/regs,required PPE, mining equipment/systems not a factor. Miner proficiency may be a factor. Diagnosed as a abdominal strain (No hernia).

The employee was dragging airline in the 8M to 9M aircouse behind another employee. The employee in front was upwind and kicked up dust causing irritations to EE's left eye. Employee did not seek medical attention until 2/14/2018, and was prescribed medicated eye drops.

Employee was offloading cribs from the de-energized Mule to shield toes on the longwall tear down face. While performing this task, EE was bending, twisting and not using proper lifting techniques. No equipment involved. It did not involve job skills, proficiency, training, or attitude. No PPE or protective devices on equipment were involved.

Employee was attempting to remove a drill steel that was stuck in the mine roof. As the employee went to place another drill steel back in the chuck, the steel that was stuck, fell out striking the side of the employee's left index finger. There was no lack of job skills, training, PPE or equipment protective devices.

Individual was inserting a drill steel in the drill guide when aligning the steel, they caught the left index finger between the steel and guide. This did not involve any compliance issues. Employee was repairing a loading machine tram chain in the 5 West area. When pulling the chain back together employee felt a pain in left elbow. Employee underwent surgery on 12/20/17 to repair a left bicep tendon. It didn't involve any compliance issues. It didn't involve job skills, proficiency, training, or attitude. No PPE or protective devices on equipment were involved.

While taking rib straps off of miner employee felt a pop and pain in right shoulder. This did not involve any compliance issues. Personal protective equipment was being worn and this did not involve job proficiency attitude or machinery.

We feel that this is a questionable claim however the employee stated that while pulling on an air hose EE felt pain in back. This did not involve any compliance issues. Personal protective equipment was being used and this did not involve job proficiency, attitude, or machinery.
