MINER WAS ATTEMPTING TO OPEN A NEW CAN OF WELDING ROD THAT WAS STORED IN THE SIDE BIN OF THE SERVICE TRUCK WHEN THE CAN SUDDENLY OPENED, ALLOWING EE'S WRIST TO STRIKE THE UPPER EDGE OF THE BIN AT FULL FORCE. THE EDGE OF THE BIN IS NOT AT ALL SHARP, BUT IS 16 GAUGE STEEL THAT IS FOLDED. THE FORCE OF THE HIT WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO CREATE A LACERATION THAT REQUIRED STITCHES.
