Mostrando los 6Injured was working from aerial lift wearing harness and 2 leg SRL performing normal task, hanging steel, hanging siding, using hand and power tools, constructing new plant truck load out. Over the course of several days employee developed pain in left shoulder area. Diagnosed as strain.
Employee was cleaning out drill holes to be loaded. He was bent over and when he went to stand up felt something pop in his back. Was brought to the surface were he was taken to doctor. No x-rays or MRI were performed but was given muscle relaxer pills and pain pills. Was back to work on 6/7/12 but not able to do anything.
Employee was heating a bushing inside the arm on a hyd. hammer. It appears that the heat buildup caused the grease inside the arm to release back into the employees face. Employee had safety glasses on at the time of the accident. Employee had eyes rinsed out at the mine site eye wash station and was sent to the hospital.
The employee was helping pull back the scalping screen hopper cover when he felt a pull in his back area.
EMPLOYEE WAS SHOVELING UNDER THE IMPACTOR ON FRIDAY, THEN CAME IN MONDAY AND TOLD THE SUPERINTENDENT THAT HE STRAINED HIS BACK DUE TO SHOVELING UNDER THE IMPACTOR.
