Mostrando los 27Maintenance employee was removing a tooth from the 992 loader. EE was striking the tooth with a hammer when a shard of the tooth flew off and struck EE on the inner thigh of EE's right leg resulting in the shard being embedded in EE's groin area.
A plant operator was changing the bearings on a field conveyor. EE was using a wrench to loosen a bolt. The wrench slipped off the bolt and the employee hit right elbow on the feeding trough. Injury was initially first aid. Management found out on 02/17/20 that employee was prescribed pain medication by a DR from this incident. Employee never got the prescription filled.
Plant manager was assisting employees with driving in a bushing on an excavator bucket. The plant manager was using a 20 lb sledge hammer to drive in the bushing. The next day the plant manager felt pain in the back and hands. Their hands also started to swell.
