Employee was drilling a face round with a jackleg drill. The leg on the jackleg kicked out from the sill and the D handle on the jackleg struck the employee on the lower left leg. Two weeks later on 06/05/2012 employee went to a doctor and had the fluid drained from the bruise.

Mostrando los 4Miner was drilling large diameter up holes with a jack leg drill. The jack leg drill steel hung up in the drill hole causing the jack leg drill to spin. This put the miner into the rib wall injuring his left shoulder. Miner reported accident but continued to work for 5 more 10 hour shifts. On miner's 7 days off he called in & reported that he had gone to dr about shoulder.
Employee and another employee was drilling a face round. Employee was closer to the face than the other employee, when the drill steel broke about 6 inches from the chuck of the jackleg. Employee operating the jackleg could not control the jackleg and it punctured the employee closer to the face in the left foot. Resulting in 2 stitches to close wound.
Miner was operating a jackleg drill bolting up the heading, when miner was ready to pull 8' steel, nipper (helper) pulled back on the 8' steel at the same time. Miner put his hand under the drill and smashed his hand between the drill stop and jackleg.
