I.E. was shearing down with the continuous miner cutter head. While cutting coal at the face a piece of rock was thrown from the drum and struck the I.E. in the nose, causing a laceration that required 3 stitches. I.E. did not miss any work due to the injury.
While backing down spoil to get another push with dozer, I.E. ran over rock that employee did not see come from a wind row of the previous push. Dozer jerked after hitting rock jarring the employee's neck. I.E. has worked until taking a week off for pain from 4-20-2020 to 4-23-2020. I.E. is back to work. I.E. did not report the injury to the operator until 4-27-2020.
I.E. was dropping the pod after installing a roof bolt when the roof bolt wrench came out of the pod. As the I.E. tried to catch the wrench it came in contact with right ring finger in between the wrench and canopy post. Employee has not missed any work from injury.
Employee was raising pump suction line and crank spun around and struck EE on the palm side of left hand.
EE was working at the construction area of the East Portal. EE started a diesel pump and part of the hose coupling came loose causing water to strike employee on the arm. EE received a strain/tear to the tendon on left arm.
While installing a roof bolt, a sharp rock fell striking the roof bolter operator in the forehead above the right eye causing a laceration. The roof bolter operator received 7 stitches to the forehead.
Flying object (rock/coal/metal), struck the CM operator in the upper chest / lower neck region. The employee returned to work the next scheduled shift on restricted duty.
Operating Dozer and jarred lower back.
Employee was roof bolting. When he was removing the drill steels from the roof, he dropped the top steel. The steel fell back striking him in the lip. He received stitches in his lip.
Employee stated he was greasing the bottom end of the lift cylinder of a dozer when grease sprayed onto his face and underneath his safety glasses into his eyes. Prescription eye drops were prescribed by the emergency room doctor.
