Over-exertion (Not Elsewhere Classified)

An operator in a skid steer with an enclosed cab could not get the bucket lowered. To get the bucket lowered another employee was standing on the bucket and jumping on it. While jumping on the bucket EE felt a pop in EE's left achilles.

Struck against a moving object

An operator was driving a haul truck down a heading when the haul truck started to slide on a downhill grade. The truck slid for roughly three headings then overturned in the travel way. The operator was wearing a seat belt and removed from the cab. EE was diagnosed with a hairline fracture on EE's left clavicle

Struck against stationary object

An employee was observing a drag chain conveyor. EE's left hand was holding a drill with chisel attachment, the chisel slipped, and EE's finger contacted the corner casing of the elevator that carries coal to the conveyor. The emergency department classified this injury as a laceration/open fracture to EE's left-hand ring finger, requiring surgery to close the wound.

Absorption of radiations, caustics, toxic and noxious substances

Employee was assisting shoveling a pile - EE fell into the pile and got lime in eyes. EE went to local medical center to get eyes flushed. Treating physician prescribed EE eye drops.

Struck by flying object

Employee got dust in their eye, scratched an eye and sought medical attention. Went to the eye doctor and was diagnosed with a conjunctival abrasion. There was nothing in the eye but was prescribed antibiotic eye drops.
