Employee had partially drilled a hole using a jackleg drill. A coworker discovered him unconscious/unresponsive, slumped over the drill. It was later determined the employee's clothes were wound up in the 6' drill steel though the cause & nature of the accident & cause of death remain undetermined and under investigation.

On October 6, 2014 a miner was working in the 5 Alimak cut 5. A six foot drill steel fell out of a skip bucket and impaled his right forearm.
After shoveling loose material mill employee reported that his shoulder hurt and that he had aggravated a pre-existing, non work related injury. Employee placed on light duty pending additional testing.
While taking two nips apart at the 7-4550 load center, in a squatting position with the nips on the ground the employee felt a sharp pain in his right knee.
Employee was drilling an entry round to a stope from inside the #4 Raise-South Side. While drilling, a 3"" x 12"" x 5' piece of lagen fell from a higher point of the raise and struck him on top of the left foot. The result of the impact was two broken bones on the metatarsal part of the left foot.
