Over-exertion in lifting objects

Employee was hanging CM cable and waterline. As they raised the cable they felt a pop in their right elbow. Employee continued to work until they had surgery on 9/16/2025.

Over-exertion in lifting objects

I.E. and another employee were hanging high voltage cable from the mine roof. As they were picking up the cable to hang it, the I.E. felt a pop in their left shoulder. I.E. continued to work until a doctor took them off for surgery on 5-12-2025.

Struck by falling object

I.E. was roof bolting installing their outside bolt. A piece of black shale fell out between the rib and the canopy measuring 1'x2'x2"Th. The rock struck them on the right shoulder. I.E. has continued to work until doctors restrictions took them off on 8-19-2024.

Struck by flying object

I.E. was cutting coal at the face with the continuous miner. While loading a coal hauler, and the coal was mounding in the bed, a chunk of material roughly 3"x3" came from the bed and struck the I.E. in the right eye. I.E. was taken off by a doctor on 6-27-2024.

I.E. was working on a coal hauler panel. They were kneeling down and standing up multiple times through the repair. The last time they stood up they felt a pop in their left knee. I.E. continued to work until doctors restrictions took them off on 6-14-2024.

I.E. was walking around roof bolter to get screenwire ready for advancement. As they were walking they felt a pop in their right knee. I.E. was unable to come back to work due to the injury on 5-27-2024.

Over-exertion in lifting objects

I.E. was taking covers off roof bolter to repair suction line. As they lifted a cover, they felt a pop in their right elbow. I.E. was taken off by a doctor the same day for a strain.

Struck by falling object

EE was taking down a kennedy stopping. A piece of rock fell from the roof and struck the EE on the right hand. Their hand was was between the rock and kennedy panel. This caused a fracture to their right middle finger. EE continued to work until 2-16-2024.

I.E. was doing a pan and bushing job on a continuous miner. They were leaned over with their hand on the floor trying to eyesight and line up the holes on the pan. As they were moving the pan, the pin fell off the truck next to them and struck them on top of the right hand causing a fracture an laceration in right index finger.

Over-exertion in lifting objects

I.E. was stacking blocks to build a stopping. When they turned with a block they felt a pop in their right knee. I.E. continued to work until a doctor took them off for surgery on 4-17-2024.

I.E. was crouched down next to a continuous miner doing some troubleshooting. When they went to stand up their right ankle popped and started experiencing pain. Doctors restrictions have taken the I.E. off work starting 1-17-2024.

Over-exertion in lifting objects

I.E. was walking between entries. Noticed a loop of cable lying in haul route. Bent over to pick up the cable and move it and felt a pop in their lower back. I.E. continued to work until doctor's restrictions took them off 1-25-2024.

Over-exertion in pulling or pushing objects

I.E. was on a ladder gathering materials for their shift from the warehouse. They were reaching for and began to pull a roll of conduit off the shelf, when they felt a pop in their right bicep. Doctors have put I.E. on restricted duty as of 01-03-2024

Struck against stationary object

I.E. was traveling down the travelway in a diesel scoop, pulling material out of the mine. They hit a bump in the roadway causing them hit their head in the canopy of the scoop. Felt their neck pop and felt some pain in shoulder. I.E. has continued to work but received an injection for pain on 10-30-2024.

Struck against stationary object

I.E. was walking to the face and stepped on a piece of coal/rock causing them to lose balance. The I.E. felt some pain in their right foot and after getting checked by a doctor, there is a stress fracture in the foot. I.E. is continuing to work.

Struck against a moving object

I.E. was troubleshooting air conditioner on production drill. While looking and listening to the unit, they repositioned themselves. Their hand slipped and came in contact with the condenser fans. The fan caused a laceration to the left wrist area that required stitches.

Struck by falling object

I.E. was dropping miner cable to reroute. When in the process of letting cable down, they cable all began to fall. The cable struck the I.E. in the head and shoulder knocking them down into the battery scoop that was next to them. This caused a concussion.

I.E. was bringing drill pod down. The top steel was stuck in the roof and the bottom steel and wrench fell to the ground. I.E. put their left hand on pod to get down and pick up other steel, when the top steel fell from the roof and struck their left hand causing a fracture in the hand. I.E. continues to work.

Struck against stationary object

I.E. was adding cable to continuous miner. While repositioning the cable, it slipped from their grip. While reaching, their right forearm came in contact with an open knife in their other hand. Laceration required stitches. I.E. has not missed any work.

I.E. states hands and elbows have been bothering them for about a month, going numb and losing grip. Doctors restrictions took them off work on 4-22-2025.

I.E. has began having sharp pains in both hands and elbows while roofbolting. Complains of frequent numbness. I.E. received a pain shot on 3-7-2024. I.E. is continuing to work. *** I.E. has been taken off work for surgery on 05-22-2024. ***

I.E. has been experiencing tingling and numbness in both hands. Doctor took the I.E. off for surgery on 8-16-2024.
