Employee was in the slate yard talking to a worker who was cleaving slate when a shard of the hammer came off, hit the eyelid of the employee, then fell to the ground. The employee had to seek medical attention due to blurry vision in the left eye. There was a slight cut on his left eyelid. He visited two doctors and returned to work the next day.
