Miner was opening/closing a 1-inch discharge valve on an 8-inch pump. The metal pipe fitting coming out of the pump broke causing the pump to spray water in the miner's face and eyes. EE's eyes were washed out at the mine, then EE went to an optometrist for examination. EE's eyes were scratched and EE was given medications and drops by doctor. EE returned to work the same day.

Working on dozer. Employee was going to paint an area on dozer to help locate tracks that were loose. EE retrieved new can of spray paint out of fireproof cabinet, and stored in cabinet for a few months. First time to use, and it wouldn't come out, EE shook can and didn't hear the ball inside so tapped it on the bed of work truck. Can exploded and hit EE in the face.
