Employee was gathering up surveying equipment and placing along the rib in the 7th North Development section. Moved surveying instrument and placed it along the rib when a piece of coal fell from the rib and struck the backside of EE's left hand requiring stitches.

Mostrando los 4The injured employee had just finished making repairs to a valve bracket on shield #8 on the 8th South longwall face. The shear was located at shield #40 cutting a taper towards the head gate. There was a bounce on the face. The injured employee was knocked down and hit EE's head on the valve bracket. 3 stitches were required.
Employee was hang the miner cable along the rib in the last open crosscut in the 1st North development section when a piece of coal measuring 18 inches long by 18 inches wide by 8 inches thick fell from the rib and struck ee in the left knee.
While operating the headgate shear drum and cutting the bottom from tailgate to headgate, a piece of coal measuring 20"X8"X9" came off of the face and hit the employee in the right leg resulting in a contusion of the right thigh. Employee was examined at the clinic and released to work with no restrictions. The operator voluntarily placed EE in light duty work for 4 days.
