First aid was administered and he completed his shift. Later on, he decided to go to the emergency room. While at the ER, he received 5 stitches to the lower lip.
Employee had just completed greasing fittings on the back of the roof bolting machine. When he got up and turned around to walk away from the bolter, a piece of loose rock fell striking him on the left lower arm and hand. The ee was using a walking stick and rock hit his hand driving in down on the walking stick. He has a small fracture behind the 2nd knuckle on his left hand.
While moving across the unit, a piece of rock (3'x1'x1"thick) fell out between pins and struck the EE on the back and left hand. He returned to work the next 2 days and then began missing work.
