The miner was leaning over a piece of equipment while cutting a bolt with an oxy/acetylene torch when hot slag entered EE's right ear. The miner was treated and released to work with instructions to keep the ear clean and dry. EE was referred to another doctor for removal of the foreign object.

Miners were working to remove bolts from the cone crusher utilizing an air impact gun and a wrench for back up. A miner's right pinky finger was smashed between the cone and wrench handle while holding the wrench as backup when the air impact was engaged.
