The employee didn't report the incident and the superintendent was made aware that the employee went to the emergency room when we received an inquiry from our workmen's comp agent on 4/5/23
While cutting round stock into shorter sections the stock shifted in the vice. Employee released the T handle on the grinder to stabilize the shifting material. When the employee released the secondary hold on the grinder the cutting wheel bound in the material causing the grinder to jump and hit employee in the left forearm resulting in a laceration that required 4 stitches.
The injured employee and co-worker started to trouble shoot cone #6 to determine the cause of the cone shutdown. The injured employee started to remove the sensor when it unexpectedly released and released hydraulic oil. The oil caused a laceration to the right hand.
