Employee had top cover off motor on vertical turbine pump turning it by hand to check for noise in bearings. His finger caught on a stationary bolt and the inertia of the motor pulled his hand around, dislocating the small finger on his right hand.

HE WAS ROTATING THE PIN MIXER BY HAND IN ORDER TO FINISH CLEANING OUT AFTER IT PLUGGED UP. IT ROTATED TOO FAR PINCHING HIS HAND BETWEEN THE ACCESS DOOR AND THE PIN HIS HAND WAS ON. EDGE OF PIN CUT PALM OF LEFT HAND ABOUT 1 1/4" LONG AND DEEPENOUGH TO REQUIRE 3 SUTURES.
