CDL delivery driver was complaining of chest pain while off site making a delivery. EMS was called when EE returned to site. EMS transported EE to the hospital where EE was diagnosed with a non-life-threatening illness. The illness was determined to not be work related.

Mostrando los 5Employee arrived onsite and parked in the employee parking lot to start EE's workday. EE was experiencing what was described as chest pain and shortness of breath. EMS was called and the employee was transported to the local hospital for tests and observation. Note: the employee did not exit EE's personal vehicle and did not clock in for EE's shift.
Employee was off duty and lives with wife in camper on mine property behind shop. Per wife who was with employee at the time, employee had just taken shower and was laying down. Wife heard noise. Found husband unresponsive. Summoned help from employee at the shop. 911 was called and transported him to Augusta County Regional Medical Center.
Per coroner, miner died of natural causes.
EMPLOYEE WAS IN HIS LOADER, LOADING ROCKS ON TRUCKS WHEN HIS CHEST STARTED HURTING. HE BEGAN SWEATING PROFUSELY, BREATHING RAPIDLY. HE SLUMPED OVER STEERING WHEEL. WHEN WITNESS SAW HIM HE WAS HOLDING HIS CHEST WITH HIS RIGHT HAND, LEFT ARM HANGING DOWN SHAKING, HEAD SHAKING, TEARS COMING OUT OF HIS EYES.
