THE INCOMI NG VEHCILE WAS A P.O.V. OWNED BY THE PASSENGER INSIDE. THIS OCCURRED APPROX. 150' BELOW THE HEAP LEACA BLDG.
EE WAS PASSENGER IN OUTBOUND P.O.V. DRIVEN BY SHIFT SUPERVISOR. AS THEY WERE LEAVING THE MINE PROPERTY ANOTHER P.O.V. OPERATED BY A CONTRACTOR EE DROVE INTO THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT QUARTER. BOTH OCCUPANTS OF THE OUTBOUND VEHICLE WERE ON THEIRWAY HOME WHILE THE OCCPANTS OF THE INCOMING VEHICLE WERE COMING ONTO THE MINE PROPERTY, BACK TO THE CRUSHER.
EMPLOYEE IS A MILL MAINT MECH & WAS ASSISTING TO REMOVE A ROCKFROM THE CONVEYOR TAIL PULLEY EMPLOYEE HAD BELT LOCKED OUT & GOT ONTO THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE BELT TO USE AN AIR JACKHAMMER ON THE ROCK WHEN THE ROCK BROKETHE BELT MOVED & CAUGHT THE EMPLOYEES FOOT FURTHER MOVEMENT CAUGHT HIS ARMS & PINNED HIM EXTRICATION FROM TIME OF ONSET TO BEING FREE WAS 12 MIN.
