Mostrando los 4Employee accessed an unauthorized area on a screen to free a frozen belt while the conveyor was running. His coat became entangled between the conveyor and belt pinning him against the two. The breaker popped due to the resistance. Employee was taken to hospital where x-rays indicated no broken bones or sutures required. Bruises to his upper left arm.
EE WAS ADJUSTING A CONVEYOR BELT ON AN ELEVATED SAND SCREEN (VIBRATING) USING A 17" BOXED-END WRENCH. THE WRENCH CAME OFF THE BOLT AND HIS FORWARD INERTIA CAUSED HIM TO LOSE HIS BALANCE, ALLOWING HIS LEFT ARM TO SLIDE UNDER THE BELT AND GO AROUND THE END PULLEY. THERE APPEARS TO BE A COMPOUND FRACTURE OF THE L. FOREARM PLUS ABRASIONS FROM THE L. SHOULDER TO THE L. HAND.
EE WAS WORKING ON A PIECE OF EQUIPMENT THAT HAD BROKEN DOWN IN THE BAGGING SHED. HE HAD REMOVED PARTS FROM THIS EQUIPMENT AND WAS PUTTING IT IN THE BACK OF A PICKUP TRUCK. HE WAS STANDING BEHI ND THE PICKUP WHICH WAS PARKED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE BAGGING SHED DOORWAY, WHEN HE WAS STRUCK BY THE FORK TRUCK WHICH WAS BACKING UP.
