Employee was dislodging elevator buckets in #2 jig elevator shaft and inadvertently stepped into the opened elevator access repair area underneath the plant jig. Employee was able to catch himself before falling completely into area and was lowered to plant floor below by two employees. Injuries consisted of sprained right knee and lacerations on left elbow and right shin.

When he tried to block his fall with his left hand he hit his hand on a rock dislocating the middle joint and tearing the skin.
