EE was completing a stopping in the #9 entry outyby the 002 section. He stumbled over some concrete blocks. While falling, he caught himself with his left hand. He completed the stopping and finished his shift.
Injured was found int he #5 entry on the 002 section in the last open x-cut intersection. He was unconsious. EMT and crew adminstered first aid and transported to surface. When he regained consciousness, He stated that passed out, falling to the mine floor and hurt his shoulder. It turnes out that he had a reaction to medication.
EE was loading 9X9 roof bolt plates onto the mantrip, when he stumbled over a 2X6X12 cap board and fell, injuring his left shoulder. He had previously injured this same shoulder. This was his second work related injury in two months.
EE was operating the #1 scoop. He stopped, turned scoop off and left the operator's compartment. While getting out, he pulled something in his left knee.
Employee was walking in the last open x-cut when he slipped on wet pavement and twisted his left ankle. He did not seek first aid. He drove himself out of the mine and went to the ER with his wife driving.
Miner operator had finished loading shuttle car. After the buggy went around the turn the miner operator stood up & walked backwards. While doing this, he fell backwards stumbling over a lump of coal. He was given first aid by EMTs and transported to surface. He was then taken by ambulance to Ruby Mtn. Hospital.
Employee was shoveling #10 belt tailpiece. He turned belt off to cross over tailpiece. As he put his right leg up on tailpiece, his left knee twisted. This employee has a history of unusual injuries.
EE WAS HAND ROCK DUSTING THE ROOF & RIBS OF A CUT HE HAD JUST FINISHED BOLTING. WHILE DUSTING & WALKING BACKWARDS HE STEPPED INTO A SLIGHT HOLE & TWISTED HIS LT. KNEE. HE DID NOT MISS ANY WORK DUE TO THIS INJURY UNTIL 3/8/02.
